What are the chances of us getting our refund back after it has been seized for a defaulted student loans?

I was wondering if anyone else has gone through the same thing. Supposedly we can fill out the economic hardship form and send them all our info and they would work with us and maybe give us our refund back. Has this been a success for anyone, or should I just start packing our stuff and be ready for eviction?
Not deferring, they already took the taxes, and I’m requesting the offset be returned due to the hardship but either way we fall under poverty line because one of us only works part time and gets Unemployment, I don’t work until late into the tax season for maybe 2 months out of the year at MOST. But yes, the link you sent was for a deferral, which I faxed in the beginning of the mess which for some reason they never got and defaulted my loan. If they had that form, none of this would be an issue.

Letter to landlord, please help?

I need a professional letter sample in which I let the landlord know that the utility fees are in arrears and that he needs to attend to it. Also that he, and not me will be held liable for all legal fees should the matter go so far. I can’t find anything like that on the internet. He is really responsible for this bill. It need to sound attorney-like.

How to I get my fathers stuff out of his house, when his soon to be ex wife calls the cops if I “trespass”?

The house is in Washington State, my father is working over in Florida for months at a time and cant leave for fear of losing his job. My father and his “wife” have been given a 20 day eviction notice. If I try to go to the property she calls the cops. Is there some sort of document or power of attorney form he could fill out giving me rights to the property? I simply want to go in the house and remove his personal belongings.
more info- The house belongs to my grandfather who is now living in an assisted living home. All of the bills are still in my grandfathers name. My father moved in as caretaker of the house with no lease. While he was gone working in florida his wife moved in and registered her cars there, and gets her paycheck sent there. With washington law, that give her rights as a resident, so we have to go through the eviction process to get her out, and since they are still married we have to evict both of them. If he was in town he could simply go in and and get his stuff, but with his work that cant happen. She has already starting selling his tools and he has already lost a few thousand dollars in belongings.

I am not sure whether to ask my Maid of Honor to step down?

Here is the break down …I am getting married in 8 months and yes I know there is some time…my Maid of Honor is going through an awful time in her life right now and I feel like to have her focus on my life is selfish of me I asked her about 11 months ago to be in the wedding….background for you: My maid of honor just graduated from law school passed the bar – broke off her engagement can’t find a job and now is facing eviction if she can’t find money to pay her rent….with this economy I think it is bad…I asked her previously in august or so before things became so bad …to contact my mom and the other girls to discuss the shower (all of them live hours away so email is the best form of communication along with phone) and we needed to book the times and dates as many people are coming in from out of town…she told me that she did contact everyone and I came to find out that she never once did so my mom is working with my aunts and the other girls now to make sure everything is set…
this past weekend I asked all the girls to come into town so they could have enough time to pick a dress and make sure it was ordered in time…they all did except for her she told me that she needed to use her grocery money to drive up her (when other girls offer to carpool) and then the rest of the months rent to pay for a dress….I told her that I could cover it for her and that the other girls could drive her ( they do not know anything about her sitation partially because it is between me and her and partially because none of bridesmaid’s know each other) —she never showed…I feel like if I continue to ask her to do stuff its either a big ordeal because of her situation or she is not doing it…
I asked her to look at dresses with me and I drove to her and she never showed up …I am having trouble finding the dress and I need to soon and she told me maybe I was meant to be miserable like her if I can’t find it….

She is not financially or emotionally able to be there for me and I would not expect her to because of everything going in her life and I am trying to be there for her but since she is not I feel like it would be selfish to continue to ask her to do anything for the wedding….I am thinking of asking her to be a guest considering circumstances and to help her focus on her life more….

Oh the reason I said emotionaly is because my fiance’s sister is giving me hell and when she does I usually call her but she told me to suck it up so I am just not talking about and keeping it between me and my fiance…

I am being really awful because I feel like it would be selfish to ask her to do stuff that I know she can’t afford and I know I can’t cover all of it for her either…

I don’t want to ruin the friendship but she is her main concern right now – finding a job making a living and working out the stuff in her life…
I am only concerned for her…and the other girls are doing their best to help but everyone is financially stuck its the economy I just feel like it might be better for her to focus on her and not try to help me out…I want waht is best for her and love her dearly and i don’t think this is the best…

After eviction,landlord files for past due included the rent, late fees, utility due until term of lease ends?

landlord has put an collection for rent past due and the payments due up to the term of the lease- 6 months including the late fees and water bill, the attorney representing the compnay states that landlord can get up to 6 months of rent after eviction. I was evicted in Jan 14, claims notices were sent, I did change of address, no notices sent except one to the person my mother who signed the lease agreement for me, with a total amount due of 7000.00 for the rent past due, including future rent, late fees and utilities.. How could this be?

Landlord is charging me $1058.37 for last apartment can they do that?

I recently moved from a 2 bed to a 3 bed. I put down a deposit of $350.00 on my last place. When I moved out the place was not pristine, but it certainly was not damaged in any way. I left a kind of dirty bathtub, everything else was scrubbed. Didnt mop the kitchen floor or anything but cleaned the appliances and shampooed the carpet etc.. I got a letter charging for everything under the sun adding up to the amout above.Minus the 350 they want me to pay 708.00 I was shocked. I think they are harassing me as I am taking them to court for a wrongful eviction notice and they know I have a lawyer, do I have any recourse for this assanine amount of money they want me to pay? I got 3 quotes form maid services and the top amount to clean a really filthy apartment would be no more than 250 and that a really dirty place.
I guess what I am saying is the place was not dirty beyond normal wear and tear and they are charging for things I know I cleaned. They are even charging me for carpet I steamed and nail holes etc…
in my defense, the place was not damaged and my apt only charges $per nail hole so that was not the all of it. Point is they are charging me for things that I did perfectly and should not be charged for.

i have 4 children the owner of the house i;ve been renting for a year now lost the house to for-closer.i have never been served with eviction papers and now i get a paper in the mail called entry of judgment i call the attorney’s office they tell me the sheriff will out to lock me and my baby’s out any minute now PLEASE HELP ASAP.i’ve been told about the motion to quash and have looked it up online but i can’t find a form for it.and the court doesn’t have one. i live in 29 palms and theirs not a law library near me.HELPPPPPP

Landlord won’t make repairs. It’s been over a year what do I do?

My husband and I have been going through a rough time and it is affecting our marriage. Please help! I pay rent monthly. There are no late fees I just have to call the landlord before the 30th of the month and tell him what day I need to pay rent. Up until now this has not been a problem. However, the problem is that the landlord does not make repairs. It is up to me and my husband to sometimes pay hundreds of dollars to make the repairs to the plumbing and anything else that is needed. We cannot mail him notice to make repairs, as stipulated by law, because he and his wife refuse to give us their mailing address. We recently spent $300.00 on repairs and told him to come around the 24th of the month since we just had a new baby also and are struggling to pay bills and make repairs to keep our other kids safe. He came by this moring and was like we have to pay late fees. My husband informed him that he has not been making repairs and we have had to pay for them. The landlord said that did not matter he does not have to make repairs. My husband slammed the door in his face and told him to come on the 24th as requested. I called and his wife answered and refused to give me their mailing address. The law seems in favor of the landlord. Our plumbing was backed up for almost a month until we got the repairs made. Any advice on what we can do. Since hurricane Ike last year we were put back financially and cannot move right now. Plus I was lais off last year. This landlord is taking advantage but he is suppose to make repairs. The kitchen cabinet even fell down on one of my daughters last year. We told him about it and he said he would get it fixed but a year has passed. Please some advice. This is bad business practice. What can we do? I called an attorney who said for me to mail notice but I explained to him the landlord refuses to give an address. The attorney has not called me back. What can I do??
The landlord has been really trying my husband’s patience and stressing him and me out. Due to our financial situation we cannot move but he should not be able to do this to us. Then again all laws point in favor of the landlord not the tennant it seems. He told my husband he does not have to make repairs but we have to pay rent. What can we do?
We did not sign a lease. It was a verbal agreement. It states that no late fees will be assessed to call for the payment date and he will come out to collect rent on that date. He also stated that he will charge a late fee only if he comes out and we have not called him. I keep requesting his mailing address but he refuses. He also said he does not have to make repairs. I have all documents, quotes, receipts, and any other evidence needed. He is a slum lord.
